Still Life

A body of work that is emerging from time spent being still for longer than I would like.  Still life is an area of work I have wanted to explore for a long time .2025 has given me this opportunity.

These works started out looking at the Dutch masters of the 15th and 16th centuries with their dark sombre back grounds . Their vanitas paintings reminding us of our mortality.

They have morphed into paintings with a narrative, a memory of a lunch or a snap shot in time.
